You Are Here: about us

Hi, I'm Vivienne Wells, and I have been  publishing innovative new ebooks from top authors since 2006. If you would like to read more about why I started Rainbow Disks and how we operate as a company, there is a detailed article published in Patchwork & Quilting magazine. Click here to read the article.

Rainbow Disks ebooks are:

  • Original ebooks with quality content from top authors.

  • Ebooks can be produced in small quantities, enabling us to publish innovative, specialist books - which find it hard to get published in print today.

  • Did you know that top craft authors often earn just a few pence on every copy of their book sold?  High discounts mean very low earnings for authors.

  • Our mission is to produce great books that earn a fair return for their authors.

  • Our ebooks contain very high resolution images so you can zoom in and see great detail - invaluable for craft books.

Rainbow Disks creates non-fiction ebooks. We aim to bring you expert advice and ideas, presented in an accessible and attractive way. If you have an idea that you would like to see published, please email us via our Contact Us page.

About Rainbow Disks

Rainbow Disks was started in 2006 by Barbara Case (Thornton) and Vivienne Wells, who between them have extensive experience of writing and publishing practical books.

Barbara Case is an internationally successful author of books on bead jewellery. Rainbow Disks published Barbara Case's fourth book, Making More Beaded Jewellery (2007) on CD.

Vivienne Wells has worked for over 20 years in the publishing industry, as a commissioning editor of practical books, a magazine editor and a freelance consultant. She and Barbara Case met when they worked together on Barbara’s first book.

In 2009 Vivienne Wells took over sole ownership of Rainbow Disks.
